The Zone of Interest & Under the Skin’s Jonathan Glazer Gives Great Update on Next Movie

Jonathan Glazer might have let slip an update on his next project. The filmmaker is famously secretive about his work, but this latest information looks promising.

Glazer recently attended a Q&A session for his new documentary Joy of Joys at the 64th New York Film Festival. During the discussion, the writer and director shared that he was in the middle of writing a new movie when he began working on the documentary about HELP(2), a charity album created by the War Child organization.

“I was working on a new film, writing it, and I got… an invitation to shoot the cover still for the album, which I thought was a lovely thing to be asked to do,” Glazer shared. “And of course I wanted to do it.”

Glazer previously confirmed he was working on a new project while speaking at Bologna’s Il Cinema Ritrovato festival last year. “I have something in my head that I will soon translate into a movie,” he said at the time.

However, there is still no update on what the new film will be.

What else has Jonathan Glazer made besides The Zone of Interest and Under the Skin?

Jonathan Glazer is a renowned English filmmaker who began his career in theater before transitioning to movies.

His feature directorial debut is the 2000 crime film Sexy Beast, starring Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley, and Ian McShane. Four years later, his psychological drama Birth, led by Nicole Kidman, was released. Glazer’s credits also include the 2013 science fiction film Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson.

Glazer’s The Zone of Interest earned him an Academy Award for Best International Film, as well as nominations for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

In addition to feature films, Glazer has directed multiple short films and commercials. He has also helmed music videos for notable artists such as Massive Attack, Blur, Radiohead, and The Dead Weather.
