Woody Allen’s next film has cast new members ahead of its production in Spain. The upcoming feature will start filming on October 5, 2026. The movie will be shot in English.
The cast includes Marton Csokas, Jemima Kirke, Jakob Oftebro, Peter Vives and Alexi Wasser. Csokas has appeared in The Lord of the Rings, while Oftebro has appeared in Hamilton. Allen wrote the screenplay and will direct the film. WestEnd Films has also joined the project to oversee international sales.
Why is Madrid the backdrop for Woody Allen’s latest feature?
Principal photography will take place throughout Madrid and the surrounding region. The film will mark Allen’s third project filmed in Spain, following Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Rifkin’s Festival. However, Allen has yet to reveal the film’s title.

The American filmmaker expressed his excitement about returning to the country and working in the Spanish capital for the first time. The director said, “I will be very happy to return to Spain. This will be my third time filming there and my first opportunity to make a film in Madrid, a city I have always loved.”
The creative team includes cinematographer José Luis Alcaine, costume designer Sonia Grande and production designer Alain Bainée. The project also continues WestEnd Films’ long-standing partnership with Gravier Productions.
WestEnd previously handled international sales for Allen’s Coup de Chance, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and the company sold it to distributors in more than 30 countries. The company also represents a library of 25 Allen titles, including Midnight in Paris, Match Point and Blue Jasmine.
The ensemble also features actors from television and international cinema. Kirke appeared in Girls and Sex Education, while Vives starred in The Time in Between and Velvet. Wasser’s credits include Messy and Girls. Further details about the storyline and release date remain undisclosed.
