Matt Damon & Daniels Mystery Sci-Fi Movie’s Title Seems More Likely After New Report

Matt Damon’s next feature will be a sci-fi adventure directed by the Daniels, according to a series of recent reports. Details regarding Damon’s next project surfaced via a Production Weekly listing (via World of Reel), identifying the working title as “Thasnagar.” Another report from TMZ confirmed the film is real when Damon was spotted filming it while wearing colorful, futuristic gear. The film has not officially been announced, but it already has a home at Universal Pictures, as the Daniels signed a deal with the studio in 2022.

The movie’s unusual name has already sparked curiosity, particularly given the Daniels’ reputation for ambitious, unconventional storytelling.

The Production Weekly listing reveals that the film will deal with “global warming and time travel, as well as a possible superhero angle.” It also reveals that its story spans two timelines, one set in the 1980s and the other in the present day. The film’s protagonists might be teenagers.
