Sydney Sweeney‘s return to Marvel looks imminent, according to a new MCU rumor. The Housemaid star has previously expressed deep interest in joining the blockbuster superhero franchise.
According to reliable scooper My Time To Shine Hello, Sweeney is “in serious talks” for a major role in the MCU. The insider didn’t mention any other details about the projects or the character the 28-year-old may portray.
The new rumor follows a previous report from the same insider. It claimed that Sydney was reportedly cast for a role. However, there had been no substantial update so far on her involvement with Marvel Studios.
At the moment, fans should take all unverified rumors and claims with a grain of salt until Marvel shares an official update on Sydney Sweeney.

While Sydney Sweeney has not been in the MCU, she has already been a part of Marvel. Two years ago, the actress was seen alongside Dakota Johnson in Sony’s Madame Web movie.
Directed by S.J. Clarkson, Madame Web also featured Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet, among others.
Sweeney played the role of Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman in the film. She, along with other women in the story, gets chased by Ezekiel Sims, who wants them dead. However, Cassandra Webb, played by Johnson, comes to their rescue.
In Marvel comics, Julia Carpenter has the powers of a psychic and an arachnid. She eventually becomes a super-agent and one of the most powerful members of the Avengers.
Sydney Sweeney will soon appear in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the multimedia franchise Gundam. The movie will also feature Noah Centineo (Street Fighter, Warfare) alongside Jackson White (Tell Me Lies), Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool & Wolverine), Nonso Anozie (Sweet Tooth), and Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), among others.
Helmed by Jim Mickle (Sweet Tooth), the Gundam movie has yet to receive an official release date.
