Sandra Bullock shares a hilarious observation about herself and Nicole Kidman as they celebrate their long friendship. The actresses reunited for the Practical Magic 2 premiere, where Bullock shared the funny detail about Kidman.
At the August 31 U.S. premiere in Los Angeles, the Bird Box star joked about how she and Kidman have not changed much over the years. Bullock told PEOPLE, “Our boobs. They’re still in the same place, which is amazing.” The Babygirl star then added that their “sense of humor” has also remained unchanged. Bullock then joked, “little humor.”
The longtime friends also shared their thoughts on giving advice. Bullock said, “I try not to give advice. I’m like, if someone asks me for information, I’m happy to share it [but] I try not to give advice until someone says, ‘What do you think?’ I just keep my mouth shut.”
Kidman explained why listening can sometimes matter more than sharing solutions. She said, “A lot of times people don’t want advice. They just want to vent, or they just want to talk.”
Sandra Bullock’s return to movies after The Lost City & Bullet Train
Bullock and Kidman first starred together in the 1998 fantasy comedy Practical Magic. They return as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens in the upcoming sequel. Practical Magic 2 also marks Bullock’s first movie since her two 2022 releases.
Bullock previously starred in The Lost City and Bullet Train that year. Her recent filmography also includes The Unforgivable (2021). In 2018, she appeared in Ocean’s Eight and Bird Box. Her return follows the August 2023 death of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall. The late model had privately battled ALS for three years before his death.
Bullock recently discussed her grief during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast. She also explained why she kept Randall’s diagnosis private while he was alive. She said Randall had asked her not to share details about his condition publicly. The actress respected his request throughout his illness.
Practical Magic 2 is directed by Susanne Bier and expands the story of the Owens sisters. The cast also includes Joey King, Maisie Williams, Lee Pace, and Xolo Maridueña. The sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on Sept. 10, 2026.
