Avengers: Doomsday might feature two major Marvel characters in its post-credit scene. A new rumor from James Mack claims Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine will appear together on Battleworld.
The scene would reportedly set up Avengers: Secret Wars and tease the next stage of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga. The Russo Brothers are said to be planning serious post-credit scenes without any comedic elements. Marvel Studios, however, has not confirmed any such scenes or appearances.
What Avengers: Doomsday’s post-credits scene could mean for Avengers: Secret Wars
According to James Mack‘s post on X, the Russo Brothers want two post-credits scenes for Avengers: Doomsday, with both scenes intended to set up Avengers: Secret Wars. He wrote, “Apparently, the Russo Brothers want two extremely serious post-credit scenes with no jokes whatsoever, setting up Avengers: Secret Wars.”
The second post-credits scene would reportedly show Maguire’s Spider-Man and Jackman’s Wolverine on Battleworld. Battleworld would be a major choice for a Secret Wars tease. The location has been central to both major Marvel Comics versions of Secret Wars. In the 2015 storyline, Battleworld is formed from pieces of different realities after the multiverse is destroyed by incursions. Dr. Doom ultimately rules over Battleworld.
The reported scene would also bring together two characters with a strong connection to the multiverse. Maguire returned as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home, while Jackman reprised his role as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine. So, seeing them together on Battleworld would make sense as part of the MCU’s ongoing multiverse story.
A Battleworld scene could hint that these two characters will have bigger roles in Avengers: Secret Wars. It could also establish that Secret Wars will bring multiple realities together after the events of Avengers: Doomsday.
For now, Mack’s report remains a rumor. Marvel Studios has not confirmed Maguire’s or Jackman’s appearance in the post-credits scene or whether Battleworld will be featured in the movie.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
