Robert Pattinson‘s upcoming movie Primetime is reportedly set for a much different runtime than The Odyssey. Pattinson’s next film will see him play the lead role of Chris Hansen, who rose to prominence as the host of To Catch a Predator. It is one of his several projects arriving this year.
An AMC listing reportedly gives Primetime a runtime of 1 hour and 50 minutes, making it considerably shorter than Christopher Nolan’s epic. However, Pattinson plays an important but supporting role in The Odyssey. In Primetime, the actor will be front and center. Following Primetime, the English actor’s shortest film of the year remains The Drama, which clocked in at 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Primetime follows Pattinson as Hansen in 2006, when he was hosting To Catch a Predator, whose work on the show later makes him an international sensation. The program saw Hansen work with law enforcement to confront suspected child predators as part of Dateline NBC. The show premiered in 2004 and ran for 20 episodes. The film’s trailer gives audiences a glimpse of Hansen’s behind-the-scenes struggles on his investigative journey.
Following To Catch a Predator, Hansen hosted Killer Instinct, which centered on homicide investigations. It’s unclear how much of Hansen’s life the film will cover. Nevertheless, Hansen recently revealed he was blocked from watching Primetime at a screening. Around the same time, Hansen also expressed that he was not sold on Pattinson playing him in the film.
Primetime stars Pattinson alongside Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, Phoebe Bridgers, Anna Faris, and Creed Bratton. It is directed by Lance Oppenheim, who has previously worked in documentary filmmaking. Following Primetime, the English actor will appear in Dune: Part 3, playing one of its antagonists in December.
Primetime will open in theaters on September 25, 2026.
