Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning R-rated film starring Florence Pugh is now available for streaming on Peacock. The three-hour film released back in 2023 was available for digital rental on Apple TV and Prime Video. Now, it will also be available to all Peacock subscribers.
Produced on a $100 million budget, Oppenheimer went on to gross $983,148,052 worldwide at the box office, according to box office tracker The Numbers. The film generated nearly 25% of its total global gross during its opening week alone.
Starring Cillian Murphy in the titular role, the story follows American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, widely recognized as the Father of the Atomic Bomb, and his leadership of the Manhattan Project.
The film was nominated for 13 Academy Awards, making it the most Oscar-nominated project of Nolan’s career. The film bagged seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. Adding to that, it also won 5 Golden Globe awards.
The film was released alongside Barbie on July 21, 2023. Alongside Murphy, the cast also featured Florence Pugh and Emily Blunt as Jean Tatlock and Kitty Oppenheimer, respectively. Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Benny Safdie, Devon Bostick, Gary Oldman, and Jason Clarke also starred in the film alongside several other renowned figures.
