A new Avengers: Doomsday rumor is fueling speculation about another major trailer surprise coming soon. The first trailer for the upcoming movie was released in early July, after debuting at CinemaCon in April. With the movie’s December release fast approaching, fans believe they may have figured out when Marvel will release its next trailer.
Disney will hold its annual D23 showcase later this week, starting on Friday, August 14. Marvel Studios will also have its panel on the same day, and rumors suggest a new trailer will drop there.

Should the next Doomsday trailer arrive on Friday, it would set a record for the shortest window between two major trailers for the same Marvel film. The studio recently showed new footage from the film to attendees at San Diego Comic-Con, which remained exclusive to the convention. With no Marvel films releasing until Doomsday, and D23 fast approaching, it could be the next logical place for the film’s marketing cycle.
However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige refrained from talking about Marvel’s TV shows at Comic-Con. Given that D23 focuses heavily on Disney+, it is also likely that Marvel will not discuss its film slate at the event.
The upcoming Marvel outing features a massive cast, being its biggest since Avengers: Endgame. The film features all members of the Thunderbolts, also known as the New Avengers, and the combined might of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.
The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday garnered over 503 million views in under 24 hours, coming in just under Spider-Man: Brand New Day for the record for most trailer views.
Avengers: Doomsday is on track to release on December 18, 2026.
