Coyote vs. Acme: Why New Posters & Video Have Fans Worried About Looney Tunes Movie

Coyote vs. Acme is gearing up for release after years of uncertainty. New posters and clips have fans divided, though many remain excited to finally see the Looney Tunes movie. Some fanatics believe the new promotional content may not be generating enough buzz ahead of its theatrical release.

Warner Bros. released new posters and a brand new clip that quickly sparked debate online. Most fans loved seeing how the movie turned out after being shelved in 2023. But some fans argue the marketing is not up to the mark, which might impact the movie’s box office performance.

One user on X, @ChadMcDickerson, wrote, “I feel so bad but this is probably gonna flop.” @wyd_rhythm said, “Coyote vs. Acme is nearing its theatrical release, but its box office remains uncertain”. Meanwhile, @Doom_Reacts commented, “This will flop hard. I don’t want it to, but this has ‘flop’ written all over it.”

Looking at the new posters, @furartstyle101 called them “one of the weakest posters” they had seen. They argued that the characters and actors looked poorly photoshopped onto a plain yellow background. Another fan @virusbiryani, felt the newly released clip relied on the “same cartoon slapstick they’ve been doing for decades.”

Why Coyote vs. Acme fans are suddenly worried about the movie’s box office prospects

The new marketing material for Coyote vs. Acme received mixed reactions. Several real factors are working against the film’s box office expectations ahead of its theatrical debut.

Ketchup Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for this shelved project from Warner Bros. in 2025. They are a small independent distributor without the marketing reach or promotional budget of bigger studios like Warner Bros. That scale gap convinces fans it would be harder to build the mainstream attention a big theatrical film needs.

Moreover, previous Looney Tunes movies hadn’t seen a breakthrough at the box office. Both Space Jam: A New Legacy and The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie underperformed at theaters. This gives fans another reason to worry that this franchise may struggle to attract big crowds.

Another reason for concern points to the movie’s unusual history. When Warner Bros. put it up for auction, major streamers and several studios had reportedly passed on the project.

Despite all these concerns, many fans are still rooting for the movie to succeed. Coyote vs. Acme hits theaters on August 28, 2026.
