The newly released Avengers: Doomsday trailer features both Steve Rogers and Gambit. But a recent rumor about both superheroes’ involvement in a fight sequence might just get fans even more hyped.
What is the new Avengers: Doomsday rumor?
The trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has garnered quite a significant number of eyeballs. As fans try to figure out the exact plot, the latest update on the movie has come to the forefront. Per scooper @mainmiddleman, the upcoming installment of the Avengers will have a fight sequence featuring Steve Rogers and Gambit.
Taking to his X account, the scooper wrote, “I was told that in Avengers: Doomsday, there will be a scene where Gambit uses his powers to energize Mjolnir in a tag-team move with Steve Rogers during the battle with Doom.”
The Avengers: Doomsday trailer has already teased the fans with a battle between Gambit and Shang-Chi. Now, if the latest rumor is true, then it would surely be an added reason for the fans to get excited.
Channing Tatum got a huge crowd pop for his role in Deadpool & Wolverine back in 2024. Now, his chemistry with the other superheroes teaming up against Doctor Doom will be an interesting visual. However, the above piece of insight is only a rumor, as Marvel has given no official confirmation about the existence of such a scene in the movie.
As for Chris Evans-led Steve Rogers, his inclusion in the trailer is arguably the biggest surprise element. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Captain America went back in time and chose not to return to the main MCU timeline. Rogers was shown living happily with Peggy Carter in an alternate timeline. Thus, it is unclear how or from what timeline the character shows up in Avengers: Doomsday.
