John Stamos, Danny DeVito’s Daughter, & Far Cry Star’s Drag Movie Sets Release Date

Briarcliff Entertainment has announced the release date for Drag. The upcoming thriller comedy stars John Stamos, Lucy DeVito, Christine Ko, and Lizzy Caplan. The latter was just recently cast in Rob Mac’s upcoming live-action Far Cry TV series for FX.

“The film follows two estranged sisters who attempt to rob a secluded home in rural upstate New York. What begins as a simple burglary spirals into a nightmarish ordeal after one sister throws out her back and becomes immobilized on the second floor,” reads the official synopsis. “As tensions rise and panic sets in, the sisters are forced into a painful and increasingly absurd fight for survival before the homeowner returns. Equal parts thriller and physical comedy, Drag explores sibling rivalry, physical pain, and the uniquely chaotic bonds of family.”

When is the release date for John Stamos’ Drag movie?

Drag is scheduled to arrive in theaters on January 29, 2027. This comes after the film’s world premiere at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival, where it received a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Its theatrical release will pit the movie directly against Chad Stahelski’s action thriller Karoshi and Josh Duhamel’s Western movie The Rescue. It will debut in the same month as The Beekeeper 2, Children of Blood and Bone, and Animal Friends.

Described as a wildly offbeat thriller comedy, the film is written and directed by Greg Yagolnitzer and Raviv Ullman. In addition to starring, Lucy DeVito is also producing alongside Danny DeVito and Jake DeVito through their Jersey Films 2nd Avenue banner. It is executive-produced by Caplan, Stamos, Robyn J. Davis, David Pomier, Andrew Zolot, and Elizabeth Niles.
