Why Avengers: Doomsday May Wind Up Confusing Even Diehard MCU Fans — Report

A new Avengers: Doomsday rumor might baffle even the most avid MCU fans. Directed by The Russo Brothers, the highly anticipated superhero movie will explore deeper into the multiverse.

What is the new Avengers: Doomsday rumor?

According to trusted insider Alex Perez, Avengers: Doomsday may feature some strange moments between characters that could leave even die-hard MCU fans puzzled. During a recent Q&A session with The Cosmic Circus, Perez was asked whether Shuri and Reed Richards would share scenes discussing science, incursions, and the multiverse.

Perez responded, “My word of warning is that it could be slightly confusing to the average viewer because there are different interpretations of the same thing depending on who’s being asked to explain the incursions and the multiverse.”

Explaining his point, the scooper added, “Reed, Sue, Shuri, Beast, the TVA, and Monica have more of an explanation rooted in science. Thor and Loki have one rooted in magic. Steve has one rooted in experience. But Doom has one that incorporates all of them.”

In other words, even hardcore fans may struggle to follow the multiverse lore if the characters each offer their own versions of how and why it happened in the first place.

Despite Perez’s solid track record, this latest rumor should still be taken with a grain of salt because nothing has been officially confirmed.

Avengers: Doomsday will see the return of fan-favorite characters, with Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers or Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Letitia Wright as Shuri or Black Panther. Other crucial cast members include Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing. Robert Downey Jr. is playing the iconic villain Victor von Doom.

The remaining cast includes Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, Channing Tatum, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Pedro Pascal.

Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18, 2026.
