5 Hipster Outfits to Avoid

Contrary to what most of us think there is a lot more to being a hipster than just having a few piece of hipster fashion in your wardrobe. It is a movement, much like any other, with it’s own philosophy. But in these shallow minded times hipsters are mostly judged by the music and the hipster outfit (who cares the fact you are a nature friendly educated nerd).

Oversized glasses, loud scarves, flannel shirts, loud socks, knit caps, v-neck t-shirts, Hawaiian shirts, beat-up Converse sneakers, Doc Martens shoes, and skinny jeans. Nowadays, these are considered hallmarks of today’s hipster fashion.

Not every piece of clothing is cool and hype. Not everything can be matched together. Whether you are true hipster guy or hipster wannabe enjoying the fashion, check out the following 5 hipster outfits and looks you should avoid.

Skinny Jeans Fails

There is nothing wrong with wearing skinny jeans but be careful, they are notorious for destroying someone’s look. Don’t wear your flip-flops, mandals or any other sandals with them. And please do not wear your skinny jeans with turned up hems. Actually, don’t wear any jeans with turned up hems unless there is water leakage in your house.

Teen Guy Hipster Look

Cool if you are a teen or David Beckham. But if not, please, act your age. A beanie or vintage brimmed hat looks cool on teenagers.

Varsity Jackets

Leave Varsity jackets to those who are into sports for real. Basicly being a Hipster is not about being into sports. So why would you wear a varsity jacket? Not cool.

Skirt Overlay Shorts

Wearing skirt overlay shorts trend kind of reminds us of the flamboyant parachute pants, one of the top 80s fashion trends. Unless you are up for that ‘kind-a-silly’, style avoid it.

Singlet/Vest

First of all they are appropriate only for gym and they don’t go well with skinny or any kind of jeans. Even Jean-Claude Van Damme looked silly in them with jeans and the 90s were a much more fashion forgiving era.
