Glassdoor has released its annual list of the United States’ top 50 CEOs, using ratings handed out anonymously by employees via the careers site. Though the list is typically dominated by the likes of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, LinkedIn’s Jeff Weiner and Alphabet’s Larry Page, who was awarded top honors last year when he was still CEO of Google, this year a different name has topped the bill: Bob Bechek.

If you’re unfamiliar with Bob Bechek, then you’re not alone. The CEO of Bain & Company, Bechek only assumed this role back in 2012, making him a relative newcomer on the list. However, despite it containing some much more well-known names, Bechek has been awarded a whopping 99% approval rating among his employees, shooting him to the very top of the list despite only being CEO of the company for four years.

Bechek has seemingly had a major impact in improving the working environment of Bain & Company, with his first year as CEO leading to the organization being catapulted to the number one spot in Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list. This year the company came in at number two, though shared the same rating as winners Airbnb.

Ultimate Software’s CEO Scott Scherr also made a remarkable leap to the number two spot, beating his number five position from 2015 after the company failed to even make the top 50 in previous years. Other notable names include Mark Zuckerberg in forth place, Jeff Weiner in fifth, new Google CEO Sundar Pichai in seventh and Apple’s Tim Cook in eighth.

This year’s list also boasted the highest ever amount of female CEOs, with four women making their way into the top 50 including In-N-Out Burger’s Lynsi Snyder (17), Staffmark’s Lesa Francis (28) Enterprise Holdings’ Pamela Nicholson (31) and Deloitte’s Cathy Engelbert (41). Despite the list containing 50 entrants, the difference between the approval rating of the top and bottom positions was minor, with the CEO at the number 50 spot – Sephora’s Calvin McDonald – still boasting a rating of 92%.
