This Star Wars: The Force Awakens Browser Extension Will Prevent You From Reading Any Spoilers

With Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens‘ release date less than a month away, online publications are inevitably tripping over one another to divulge any secrets they can get their hands on about the upcoming blockbuster. This means that it’s becoming increasingly difficult for those who want to watch the film without knowing any of its plot details.

Fortunately, a new browser extension has been introduced for Chrome that offers users a warning if they are about to visit a site that may contain spoilers for the film, with the Star Wars Spoiler Blocker detecting keywords that relate to the film in a webpage, before blocking the contents of the page with a fullscreen warning.

The warning, which reads “Star Wars Potential Spoilers Ahead” in the style of the movies series’ opening crawl, also gives users the option to “Proceed Anyway,” with the extension also displaying a Stormtrooper helmet in the top right-hand side of the browser that, when clicked, turns the extension off.

If you want to ensure that you don’t risk reading spoilers for the film every time you go online from here on out, then you can download the Star Wars Spoiler Blocker from the Chrome Web Store right here.
