“Luxury” Edition of Apple Watch Predicted To Sell For Up To $20,000

The luxury Apple Watch Edition of the upcoming wearable device is predicted to be incredibly expensive, with analysts expecting its price tag to range between $5,000 to $20,000.

The benefits of having the high-end edition of the device are numerous, though not exactly worth a $20,000 retail price, if that is to be the case. With a scratch-resistant 18ct gold design, the Apple Watch Edition certainly looks the part, and it will also allow those who own an iPhone to send and receive phone calls, text messages and emails along with making payments by swiping their wrists along contactless payment points in certain stores. It is also said to keep “incredibly accurate” time, though I would expect that to be the case without having to fork out up to $20k.

The price predictions roughly average out at around $10,000, though considering the relatively short lifespan of tech products it would likely be a large investment that wouldn’t hold up in a few years time, if Apple is to eventually release an Apple Watch 2, which you’d have to assume they will.

Apple will officially unveil the price point of the Apple Watch Edition at its event today (March 9th), with the company also set to run down a few more specifics regarding the device along with offering the press a closer look at it prior to its launch.

The Apple Watch will be available in other, cheaper editions at retail, including the basic Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport. Its luxury edition will also come in sleek rose gold.
