2015 Cadillac Escalade SUV Still Riding High

Entering it’s fourth generation, the Cadillac Escalade keeps getting bigger and better and so does the price tag. Critics have said it very closely resembles it’s siblings, the Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon but there are definitely quite a few differences that make the $86,980 version I drove all worth while. The charm of this truck is honestly, dare I say, vulgar? Seriously, if you’re looking for something that’s luxurious, just a bit excessive and bares a name of classic tradition, the Escalade is made just for you. After all, no one does luxury SUV’s like Cadillac.

So, what do I love about it? For starters, it has a 420-horsepower, 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 460 kb-ft of torque and a six-speed automatic transmission. Put that all together and you get an SUV that can go from 0 to 60 in approximately 7 seconds. Yes, I tried it. The Escalade is also perfect if you live in cold weather climates where it snows, with four wheel drive, 22” wheels, heated seats and steering wheel as well as keyless start. With all that plus Magnetic Ride Control and trailering equipment, there’s no way you won’t want to venture out this winter with motorized snow scooters in tow.

Now, let’s talk luxury. The Escalade has a 16 speaker Bose cabin surround sound system, active noise cancellation, audio system feature CD/MP3, SiriusXM and HD radio, power adjustable petals, rear seat entertainment system, illuminated door handles, programmable power, hands free lift gate and the list goes on and on. The interior space of the Escalade is slightly lower than before but it’s never been more comfortable. The standard Escalade is 204 inches and the extended ESV version is 224 inches. The 2015 has more leg room and the back two rows of seats fold down with the simple touch of a button making it much easy to load and unload cargo.

Overall, the 2015 Escalade 4WD Premium vehicle I drove had me in love on sight and many other drivers on the road as well. The unmistakable grill and size of the SUV creates a presence that cannot be ignored.
