New Covers of Harry Potter Books Revealed and They Look a Little Anime

Bloomsbury Children’s Books have created new covers for the hardback and paperback editions of the Harry Potter series, and the results make The Boy Who Lived look a little bit like an anime schoolgirl.

The new covers of all seven books have been designed by award-winning Jonny Duddle, who spoke of his pride in being asked to provide the artwork for JK Rowling’s hugely popular novels, saying: “I’m hugely excited to work my way through the wonderful books. I couldn’t have asked for more enjoyable subject matter.

“It’s exciting, daunting and I feel the weight of responsibility, and I’m just hoping that my illustrations faithfully reflect the characters and world created by JK Rowling.”

Despite the somewhat odd appearance of Harry, who seems to remain the same age throughout each cover, they’re each wonderfully designed with a meticulous attention to detail. We particularly enjoy the Deathly Hallows cover, which features Dumbledore in full-on wizard badass mode.
