Family Dog Accidentally Starts Deadly House Fire With Toaster

In a shocking series of events, a family dog accidentally turned on the toaster, which resulted in a horrific house fire. Unfortunately, this deadly fire caused substantial loss and damage. Notably, experts have revealed that pets unintentionally start home fires while fiddling with electrical appliances and have requested pet owners to exercise caution.

Accidental toaster fire killed three pets in a Belcamp, Maryland home

A Maryland family’s dog accidentally caused a deadly fire by turning on the toaster at home. Unfortunately, it claimed the lives of three other pets in the house and caused significant damage as well. As per CBS News, the disastrous fire broke out on Friday, July 10, at a home in Belcamp, Maryland, when the owners were not at home.

Upon investigation, investigators employed by the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal thoroughly checked Ring camera footage from inside the home. The video revealed the family dog, Bo, jumping onto the kitchen counter and turning on the toaster. The toaster ignited and burnt the items placed in its vicinity. A small fire broke out and eventually spread.

Approximately 30 firefighters were alerted to the situation and brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The fire was ruled accidental. However, the damage was largely done.

Neighbours jumped in to rescue Bo and another dog, named Addie, from the burning home. Unfortunately, as per the outlet, a third dog named Dakota and two cats could not survive the deadly fire and passed away. Officials estimate that the accidental yet horrific fire caused approximately $150,000 in damage to the home and another $50,000 in damage to its contents.

Interestingly, the internet has a different theory about the dog starting the fire. Users have defended the dog, stating that the animal did not start the fire, but rather sensed something was wrong and was trying to stop it.
