2017 Chicago Auto Show: Mopar 2017 Dodge Challenger

Mopar takes already fun cars from FCA – be they Fiats, Dodges, Jeeps, etc. — and makes them incredible. Celebrating its 80th anniversary, the tuning house announced its latest creation at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.

The Mopar 2017 Dodge Challenger takes the famous muscle car and amps its appeal. Only 160 models will be available, offering two hand-painted, custom show car trim options. Buyers can choose between from 80 Pitch Black/Contusion Blue or 80 in Pitch Black/Billet Silver. You’re seeing a lot of 80s in there for the obvious celebratory reason.

Arriving in dealerships in second quarter 2017, the Challenger employs a proper, six-speed manual transmission Mopar ’17 Dodge Challenger enhancing the base Dodge Challenger R/T 392. The 6.4 liter, 392 HEMI engine produces 485 horsepower. A Shaker Hood package by Mopar provides performance gains with a hint of vintage visual styling.

A Mopar cold air intake delivers another level of performance boost, aided by an air catcher duct system via the headlamp. The upgrade, coming via the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, feeds additional cold air into the engine. Mopar Shaker strut tower braces and caps are silver powder-coated and increase rigidity and handling. Four-piston Brembo brakes provide stopping power.

A special Mopar 392 logo, hand-painted on at the Mopar Custom Shop, gives an additional custom flair. The Mopar 2017 Dodge Challenger arrives with exclusive content that highlights the vehicle’s prestige and collectability. A special serialized Mopar 2017 80th Anniversary badge is included under the hood, announcing the car’s build number from 1-80.
