Oculus Rift European and Canadian Release Date Revealed, Pre-Order here

The Oculus Rift’s European and Canadian retail launch is set for September 20, Oculus’ co-founder Brendan Iribe has revealed.

The virtual reality headset will go to retail in Europe and Canada next month, with the following outlets set to stock the device on its launch day:

In Europe the suggested starting retail price for the Oculus Rift is £549/€699, making it a pretty hefty investment. To put that into perspective, a PS4 in the UK can currently be purchased from Amazon for around £270. The Rift comes bundled with the platformer Lucky’s Tale, alongside hundreds of 3D 360 videos and VR movies.

The Rift previously launched in North America back in March, with it receiving solid reviews and plenty of consumer interest, selling out in a matter of minutes. Oculus has had notable trouble with keeping its stock of the device replenished, so if you want to get your hands on one of the headsets, then you’re better off pre-ordering sooner rather than later.
