Sioeye Iris4G Blink Lets You Live-Stream in 4G to YouTube Live

Sioeye has announced its brand new Iris4G Blink action camera, allowing thrill-seekers to live-stream their exploits to YouTube Live over a 4G connection.

The action cam is the successor to Sioeye’s first device, the Iris4G 4K, with it being announced just as the company unveiled its new YouTube Live streaming capabilities. The company previously supported live-streaming via the web and through the company’s own platform, SioeyeLIVE, for iOS and Android, but YouTube Live opens it up to a whole new audience of viewers.

The Iris4G Blink streams at 480p in 30fps, with it also able to capture video in 1080p at 60fps. During a streaming session it can also capture the footage in HD and record it to the device’s local storage, meaning that you can effectively save your live streams as you’re recording. The device runs on Android 6.0, with it also including an internal GPS and barometer sensors, displaying additional information to your live stream viewers including a speedometer and altimeter dashboards. The camera is also able to take 8 Megapixel still shots.

The Iris4G Blink also consumes a relatively small amount of data, with each stream using up approximately 450MB of data per hour. Not only that, but customers can actually be rewarded with data by purchasing the action cam, with those who purchase for the device from Sioeye.com being offered a pre-installed T-Mobile SIM card with 5GB of data for no additional cost, for a limited time only.

Discussing the new action cam, professional skimboarder Tim Fulton said: “Using my Sioeye Iris4G, I’m able to give my fans a new perspective on Skimboarding. Being able to connect to a live audience lets me share my enthusiasm and helps grow our sport. The new Blink edition will broaden live streaming to everyone, not just professionals.”

The Sioeye Iris4G Blink will be available to buy from Sioeye.com, Amazon and select retailers for $249 at some point in the second half of this year.
