Shelley Catherine Hennig was born in Destrehan, Louisiana on January 2, 1987. While she ended up gaining national attention for the first time after winning the Miss Teen USA 2004 pageant, originally she had had aspirations to be a dancer, having been training as one since she was 2 years old. But sometimes good fortune shows itself in other ways, which has been the case for Shelley's professional career most of her life.

During her time wearing the crown of Miss Teen USA, Shelley was able to travel all across the world promoting non-profit organizations such as Seeds of Peace, D.A.R.E. and Sparrow Clubs. Of course, it was a seemingly insignificant part of her position that would up playing a huge role in her eventual career. With one of the perks of her national title being a guest role on the NBC series "Passions," she took a shine to acting and decided to pursue it full time after her crown was relinquished on August 8, 2005. Having won a scholarship to attend The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in New York, NY, she used her newfound acting chops to win the role of Stephanie Johnson on "Days of Our Lives" in 2007. During her four years playing the part, she was even twice nominated for a Daytime Emmy for "Outstanding Younger Actress In A Drama Series" in 2010 and 2012.

Such accolades only pushed Shelley further down the path to success. By 2013, she had starred as a series regular on two popular television series "The Secret Circle" and "Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous." This, in turn, lead to her feature film debuts in the horror films "Unfriended" and "Ouija," which were released within seven months of each other in 2014. Along with her series regular role on the popular MTV teen drama "Teen Wolf," we'd say she'd bound for even greater opportunities in the near future.
