She is probably best known for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Notably, sources differ on her birth. Some say 1985; others, 1979. Her measurements are 33-24-35. She has worked for Fashion Model Management, Ford Models, Max Models and Yuli Models.

As a child, Lujan Fernandez was a teen star. She was discovered at the age of 14 while tanning on a Uruguayan beach and the rest is history.

Lujan Fernandez graced the covers of ELLE, GQ, Harpers Bazaar and Vogue. Shortly thereafter, she moved to New York City to pursue her career in modeling in earnest. Lujan took part in print campaigns for Ralph Lauren, BCBG and John Bartlett.

But it was Sports Illustrated in 2000 that made her famous. She had a three-year run with the magazine. She had a double-whammy, as she also appeared in Victorias Secret catalogs. Other campaigns followed, including work for XOXO and Perry Ellis.

In her spare time, Lujan Fernandez reads poetry, and claims Allen Ginsberg, Dylan Thomas, Shel Silverstein, Maya Angelou and Pablo Neruda among her favorites.

In 2001, she placed #66 in Maxims 100 Sexiest Women List.

Lujan Fernandez said, There is nothing more beautiful than a woman that is in love as well as modeling is a good job, but it is just that a job. Maybe that explains her disappearance from the spotlight.

Lujan Fernandez dropped out of the fashion spotlight sometime in 2007 and has given no reason for the break, though she allegedly told a reporter that she hoped to return to TV or films sometime in the future ( Neither her Facebook nor her Twitter account, if they are indeed hers, give an account or tips as to where she is now.
