Kim Glass is an professional indoor American volleyball player and model. Her team famously took home a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Kimberly Marie Glass was born on August 18, 1984 in Los Angeles, California, but was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. During that time, she attended Conestoga Valley High School, where she was not only a three-time letter winner, but also named the 2001 Pennsylvania State Gatorade Player of the Year. This was in addition to also holding the title of Lancaster-Lebanon League MVP in 2000 and 2001, as well as playing for Synergy for four straight years.
After high school, Kim attended the University of Arizona, where she went on to be named both a three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American and four-time All-Pac-10 pick. She even broke several records during her time at the university. Al of this lead up to her joining the U.S national volleyball team in 2007, which she is still a part of today, along with the Azerbaijani women's volleyball club, where she has also played.
Among her top accomplishments when it comes to her career as a competitor with the U.S. indoor volleyball team, Kim has taken home a bronze medal at the 2007 Japan World Cup, a silver at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, two more golds at both the 2011 Macau Grand Prix and 2011 Caguas NORCECA Championship, and another bronze at the 2011 Ciudad Juarez Pan-American Cup.
While all of this seems well more than enough accomplishments for anyone in a lifetime, it is still not enough for Kim. The young athlete still aspires to be more, particularly when it comes to modeling. In fact, while in college, she tried out to be a contestant on Tyra Bank's "America's Next Top Model" on five separate occasions. Eventually, her dreams came true in another form when she was asked in 2011 to appear in the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, which she graciously accepted.
