As for the Twitter invite, she said, “I thought it was fantastic. When you see someone that puts that much time and effort into something, you have to take the time and give him the benefit of the doubt.” Apparently, her date ended up being named Prom King.

Jenny Dell said she grew up a “Daddy’s girl” in Connecticut and spent as much time as she could watching games with her dad. Initially, she wanted to be a chef. (In high school, she even had her own catering company called “Simply Dell-icious.”) She earned a scholarship to culinary school, but decided to attend UMass Amherst, instead.

While there, she majored in hospitality and tourism management. She is a former UMass cheerleader. Her love of sports made her change her mind, and she switched her major to Sport Event Marketing.

While in college, Jenny Dell worked for the UMass athletic department. After she graduated a semester early (and Summa Cum Laude), she went to work for ESPN in the event production department before she was asked to try for an on-air position. “I’ll never turn down an opportunity, so I went for it. I started doing a few fantasy segments here and there, and that turned into weekly shows, and major interviews.”

As for working in Boston, she said, “Boston fans are so passionate and knowledgeable. It makes me strive to be the best I can, and to always be prepared.” She added, “My job is to tell stories, to share with Red Sox Nation what is going on with the team.”

When asked, Jenny Dell said the grossest thing about the locker room is that “it doesn’t always smell good.” She added that the toughest part of her job is “just the grind of it.” And if she were to play baseball, she’d like “pitcher. I like to be in charge.”

Jenny Dell resides in Boston, Massachusetts and is currently not married.
