Freya Tingley

Freya Tingley is an Australian actress probably best known for her role in the Netflix original series “Hemlock Grove.” Her first professional role was “Young Joan” in the play “Far Away” in 2008. Since then she has appeared in the short films “Bootleg” and “Light as a Feather,” as well as voiceover work for “Bully for You,” among other projects.

Freya Tingley said she’s had her heart set on acting since she was 12 years old. And she admits to having no Plan B if acting should fail. Her motto? “Plan B is a plan to fail. You should always give 110% to what you plan to do for plan A.”


Before she wanted to be an actess, she said, ““I really wanted to be a spy. I guess it’s a bit like acting where you play a role. Then I found out you could get killed, so I changed my mind.”


When Freya Tingley appeared in the short film “Beneath the Waves,” she portrayed a deaf girl and had to learn sign language.


Freya Tingley went “Hollywood” when she was discovered by a talent scout in 2010. She is signed with the Gersh Agency. She was nearly cast in the “The Hunger Games,” but wasn’t chosen in the final round.

Freya moved to Los Angeles at 17 to pursue a career in acting, and studied through the Schools of Isolated and Distance Education to finish her Austalian schoolwork. “It wasn’t difficult to do. I knew my priority was acting and school came second. If I had an audition and meetings I did the school work later.”


Freya Tingley lives in the City of Angels with her mother and continues to pursue other roles, including a stint on “Once Upon a Time,” the ABC drama series.
