Jeremy Clarkson Returns Alongside Top Gear Team for the First Time Since He Was Axed

Jeremy Clarkson has appeared in a commercial for his upcoming live shows with fellow former Top Gear presenters Richard Hammond and James May, titled Clarkson, Hammond and May Live, in what marks the trio’s first appearance since Clarkson was axed from his role as host of the car show.

Clarkson’s contract with the BBC was allowed to expire following an incident with Top Gear’s TV crew, in which Clarkson physically assaulted the show’s producer, though the planned Top Gear live shows were then rebranded to remove any affiliation with the BBC or the programme, with the three former presenters choosing to go ahead with them.

In two new trailers for the upcoming shows, Clarkson jokes about his ousting from the BBC, saying: “Hello, I used to be Jeremy Clarkson, and I have news.”

Clarkson & co. are also encouraging fans to promote the shows using the hashtag #BackOnTheRoad, with the end of this road presumably leading to more dad jokes and thinly veiled xenophobia.

The show will kick off Odyssey Arena in Belfast on May 22nd.
