Boom! Brings Hitman: Agent 47 To Comics

This summer, the video game franchise Hitman: Agent 47 is getting a live action reboot film courtesy of director Aleksander Bach and 20th Century Fox. Now, Agent 47 is set for his comic book debut as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Boom! Studios will be publishing a Hitman: Agent 47 one-shot comic that will act as a prequel to the feature film starring Rupert Friend in the title role. Writer F.J. DeSanto (Cyborg 009) and artist Jesus Hervas will be the creative team on the Hitman one-shot, which will feature Agent 47 on the hunt for a deadly adversary.

Hitman: Agent 47 producer Adrian Askarieh and Boom! Studios’ Stephen Christy came up with the story for the one-shot, which will lead directly into the first scene of the film. This will be Agent 47’s first appearance in a comic book.

Boom! and Fox have previously collaborated on comic book adaptations of Planet of the Apes, Maze Runner and Sleepy Hollow.

While the report didn’t include a release date for the Hitman: Agent 47 comic book, the film will premiere nationwide on August 28.
