Read The ‘Better Call Saul’ Preview Comic

Last Sunday, Walter White aka SorrtaGreg popped up in a memorable commercial during the Super Bowl. But next Sunday, Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman takes center stage in the “Breaking Bad” prequel spinoff series, “Better Call Saul.”

Ahead of the series premiere of “Better Call Saul,” AMC has released a free prequel comic written by Jenn Carroll and Gordon Smith with artwork by Steve Ellis and colors by Ellis and Jon Haeffner. 

The story is called “Client Development” takes place from the perspective of Saul Goodman and his enforcer/private investigator, Mike Ehrmantraut during the events of their first appearance in “Breaking Bad.” In this previously untold tale, we learn how Saul and Mike discovered the real identities of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Via Mashable, AMC’s Mac McKean explained “that [‘Breaking Bad’]t episode is complete as it is but there was an opportunity there … to unpack something from that episode that directly leads us into Better Call Saul… Not that this is something you must read to get Better Call Saul, but having those extra layers out there seems really appropriate for this particular type of storytelling and this type of show.”

McKean added that “we’ve seen the evidence in terms of usage [of the comics in the past] that there’s a sizable chunk of people who want to read about this world in this form.”

“Better Call Saul’ will premiere this Sunday, February 8 on AMC, before settling into its regular night on Monday, February 9.
