5 Amazing Things That Happened During NFL Championship Sunday

The Patriots and Seahawks punched their ticket to the Super Bowl with wins over the Colts and Packers Sunday, but just in case you missed it, here are five incredible things that happened aside from the tremendous plays made on the field.

With 226 yards in the game, the model turned quarterback became the all-time greatest NFL post-season passer, surpassing Peyton Manning for No. 1 on the list (6,800 yards). Last week he surpassed Joe Montana for most post-season TDs (46), after already owning the record for most post-season wins (19).

Never, ever, give up on your team. It doesn’t matter how deep the deficit.

These fans found out the hard way, after leaving with five minutes to play and the ‘Hawks down 19-7, they missed the most amazing comeback in recent NFC playoff memory.

And these were just a small portion of the group that fled CenturyLink Field early.

Ya know, because Tom Brady’s only two Super Bowl losses came against the Giants, one of them in Glendale (The other was in Indy though, Lawrence).

No, this is not a report from The Onion. This is real news.

According to Bob Kravitz of WTHR, the Patriots could lose draft picks if found guilty of deflating balls in their AFC Championship game against the Colts Sunday. Supposedly, suspicious referees took one ball out of play at one point during the game to weigh it. It’s illegal to deflate balls, even a little bit — the theory being that deflated balls are easier to throw and catch.

Either way, there shouldn’t be too much of a fuss here. The Pats did dominate the entire match regardless, winning 45-7. However, considering the Patriots were under fire in recent years for ‘Spygate,’ we can only love the possibility of a ‘Ballsgate.’

There’s really only one way to celebrate your team winning their second consecutive NFC title — and that’s running onto the field after game, dropping trou, and then raising your fist in the air while you chug a mystery beverage.

Just don’t ask me what to do if the ‘Hawks win another Super Bowl. Ladies, feel free to join the party.
