Warner Bros. Drops Sandler’s The Ridiculous Six

Let’s face it. Adam Sandler films, as silly and weird as they may be, tend to perform decently in the box office, digital, and home video sales. However, it seems Mr. Sandler’s run into a bit of a problem with Warner Bros.

They dropped his western comedy, The Ridiculous Six, that’s been in the works for a couple years now.

There’s a number of factors that may have influenced the decision made by Warner Bros. The first of those is the fact that Adam is lining up to release four films in a partnership with Netflix (so he’ll be quite busy). Another is that a recent (Seth Macfarlane) western comedy, A Million Ways To Die In The West, didn’t fare well at all in theaters. A third factor was possibly a budget disagreement. As you can see, Sandler might have had quite a few obstacles.

The worst part of it all is that Sony and Paramount had both turned Sandler and crew away prior to this. But it’s not all doom and gloom for him, because he’s got a bit of work cut out for himself with upcoming Netflix productions. Oh and Sony, as well as Warner Bros., did say they’re still open to working with him in the future.
