John Travolta And Dustin Hoffman Projects Will Screen At TIFF

On Tuesday TIFF organizers released another list of movies that will screen at this year’s event, which will run from September 4-14, and they include projects with Hollywood heavyweights like John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

In total, 17 projects and seven galas were disclosed by the Toronto International Film Festival.

“The Forger,” starring Travolta as well as Christopher Plummer, profiles an art forger who is released from prison and coerced into getting involved with a huge museum heist. Hoffman, along with Kathy Bates, Josh Lucas, Debra Winger and “Glee’s” Kevin McHale, appear in “Boychoir,” an inspiring drama about a troubled 11-year-old boy at a prestigious East Coast music school who clashes with the school’s demanding choir master (played by Hoffman).

Meanwhile, a Midwestern farmer (Schwarzenegger) stays by the side of his beloved teenage daughter (played by Abigail Breslin) even as she slowly turns into a cannibalistic zombie in “Maggie,” an audacious genre-bending debut feature from director Henry Hobson.

“From politically and socially provocative narratives, to aesthetically compelling animation and profoundly moving documentaries, the works in Short Cuts International are vigorous and vital films showcasing unique, yet universal, stories about the human condition,” said Shane Smith, director of special projects, to The Canadian Press.
