Comic-Con 2014: Watch The Extended Interview with Game of Thrones’ George R.R. Martin From Superhero HQ

While most of the talent assembled for Comic-Con International was looking to get out of San Diego, “Game of Thrones” creator spent several hours at the Interactive at Petco Park, courtesy of Courtyard Marriott’s Superhero HQ and a special cosplay event.

Before filming our exclusive interview with Martin, CraveOnline was invited to watch Martin oversee the coronation of the King and Queen of the Courtyard Marriott cosplay contest. Afterwards, Martin remained on stage for almost an hour while he took questions from the moderator and the fans in the crowd.

Among the many topics that came up, Martin discussed his early days at San Diego Comic-Con and his memories of going to the very first Comic-Con in 1964. Martin also shared his thoughts on his favorite superhero, his favorite sci-fi franchise, how he started writing Game of Thrones, how he handles getting stuck in a story and which TV shows that he currently follows.
