Cavs Now Willing To Trade Andrew Wiggins For Kevin Love?

Despite constant statements they would not be willing to trade away Andrew Wiggins, rumors started swirling on the internet Thursday that the Cavaliers have changed their mind and are now willing to discuss moving their 2014 No. 1 overall draft pick for Kevin Love.

The two teams have supposedly been in discussions since LeBron James decided to go back to Cleveland.

James certainly wants to win another championship in his hometown, which would be a first for the city. Love is a three-time All-Star and double-double machine who has said he doesn’t plan on re-signing with the team when he enters free agency after next season. He will be looking to go to a winning team.

Although they’ve also been discussing a deal with Golden State, reports indicate they want a trade with Cleveland, but only if they receive Wiggins.

What this deal could mean

This is a trade that could work well for both teams, but the thought of losing a player that could be the next LeBron James is terrifying. Wiggins is the next super star in basketball and could very good very soon. However, in order to get a solid All-Star caliber player like Love, the Cavs would have to sell high right now in case Wiggins does take a little time to develop.

For Minnesota this would be a best case scenario, getting a player who, over time, will be just as good as Love, probably better.

Cleveland might want to win right now considering James is almost 30 years old. Love is 26 years old.
