Last month, genre veteran Mark Pellegrino was the first cast member signed to “The Returned,” an adaptation of the French TV series “Les Revenants” which is being executive produced for A&E by Carlton Cuse (“Lost” & “Bates Motel”).
Deadline is reporting that Kevin Alejandro is the newest cast member of “The Returned,” which takes place in a small town that is rocked by a series of unexplained resurrections of people who died years before. Alejandro will be portraying Sheriff Tommy Moran, while Pellegrino will play Jack, the father of Camille (India Ennenga), one of the returned.
According to the same report, Sophie Lowe has also been cast as Lena, Camille’s sister and Jack’s older daughter. Mat Vairo will play Simon, a musician who died a decade before his emergence as one of the returned.
Alejandro is best known for co-starring in “Southland” in addition previous genre roles on “True Blood” and “Arrow.” Lowe was recently the star of ABC’s “Once Upon a Time In Wonderland” in addition to her film roles in Beautiful Kate, After the Dark, Adore and Road Kill. Vairo is a relative newcomer who has previously appeared in “Revolution,” “CSI” and “Switched at Birth.”
“The Returned” will likely premiere on A&E in 2015.
