Mark Pellegrino just spent the last TV season as the primary antagonist on “The Tomorrow People.” But while that show is over, Pellegrino already has a new home on TV.
Deadline is reporting that Pellegrino has been cast in a leading role in “The Returned,” a new A&E drama based upon the French drama series “Les Revenants.” The premise of “The Returned” focuses on a small town that is rocked by a series of resurrections of people who died years before. ABC’s “Resurrection” has a similar premise, but “Les Revenants” aired over a year before “Resurrection” debuted.
Pellegrino will play Jack, the father of twin girls Lena and Camille. Because Camille is among the newly resurrected, Lena is now 20 while Camille remains 16.
“The Returned” is executive produced by former “Lost” showrunner, Carlton Cuse; who had previously cast Pellegrino as Jacob in the closing seasons of “Lost.” Pellegrino is also well known for playing Lucifer in “Supernatural” and Bishop on Syfy’s “Being Human” in addition to his stints on “Dexter,” “The X-Files,” “ER,” “CSI,” “ER” and “NYPD Blue.”
A&E has ordered ten episodes for the first season of “The Returned,” with a premiere expected to come in 2015.
