You can get into a lot of trouble in 72 hours, so don’t waste your holiday. Check out our suggestions for ways to spend your long weekend.

It’s one those great moments — you know what we’re talking about — you’ve got Monday off and you’re gearing up for the weekend. But during all of the excitement and the buildup for this spectacular occasion, you realize that you have absolutely blown it. You haven’t planned anything and now you’re options are limited to babysitting your nephew Karl or checking out that new Disney movie…

Not on our watch. We’ll help you figure out your entire long weekend, online, in 11 minutes or less. Check it out.

Travel

Three days is long enough to get up and get out of your house, so take advantage of your additional 24-hours off and head into the great unknown… Or, you know, to the beach.

There are plenty of options to book travel and room, but nothing beats the ease of AirBnB and those classy planes they have over at Virgin Atlantic. You can fly up to Washington and check out the rain or head down to Guatemala and venture into some volcanoes. It’s quick, it’s easy and, if you don’t mind going off the beaten trail, it can be pretty cheap.

Game

What’s the absolute opposite of getting out of your house for all 72 hours of your long weekend? Staying in. And, if you have an awesome game that you’re about to rip into, that sounds like a pretty appealing way to spend your hard-earned time off.

So what’re the best ways to get your game on? Well, if you need one of those new-fangled consoles or a gaming PC, we suggest heading over to Pricegrabber.com to find the lowest price.

Next, you’re going to need a game and, boy, do you have some options. Steam, GOG and Desura are a few of the digital download systems that will let you occupy your entire weekend browsing through their catalog of cheap (and awesome) games.

You’ve also got their brick-and-mortar counterparts who would happily send you a copy of your favorite game in a disc format. Crazy, right?!

So what do we recommend for your 3-day gaming excursion? Can’t beat last year’s game of the year — The Last of Us.

Learn

Your other option for the weekend might seem a little less fun than the other two, but, trust us, if you take the right class, you can have a great time.

So why not sample an online cooking class with America’s Test Kitchen Cooking School? Take two days to learn how to make the perfect chocolate cheesecake and take all of Monday to eat it.

Or get your online locksmithing certification! You can become the ultimate lock craftsmen all while sitting behind your computer screen. Why? Because who doesn’t want to know how to pick locks?

You should also give Craigslist a quick look because you can often find lonely single woman who give free dance lessons. All you have to do is fork over your credit card and… Oh wait, that might not actually be an advertisement for a class.
