Brewers Find New Mascot At Spring Training

Nearly every Tweet the Brewers sent out Thursday involved their new four legged friend they’ve dubbed “Hank.”

According to reports, Hank (named after Hammerin’ Hank Aaron) was a stray puppy who wondered around the Brewers’ Spring Training facility in Phoenix earlier this week. Once the team noticed the little guy, he almost immediately became the team’s unofficial Spring Training mascot. The team named him Hank to make him feel more welcome and they even took him to the local vet where he received his shots and a much needed bath.

After seeing the positive response from both fans and players, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the little guy become a permanent member of the club. It’s obvious the team is in love.

According to MLB’s John & Cait Plus Nine, Hank not only spends all day playing with players and personnel at the field but also goes home with a member of the organization each night to a warm bed and recently completed a busy day of shopping at the Team Store where he picked out his favorite Brewers team wear. Although it would be hard to bat with paws, if he’s as fast as we think he is he would make an outstanding pinch-runner.
