The B-Movies Podcast Presents: John Sayles

Two-time Academy Award-nominee John Sayles (Passion FishLone Star) comes to the CraveOnline studio for a very special, exclusive, in-depth video interview with The B-Movies Podcast‘s William “Bibbs” Bibbiani. His latest film, Go for Sisters, is a crime saga, a mystery, a buddy film, a corruption tale, a social issue movie, and many more genres besides, and his screenplays were one of the reasons Bibbs was inspired to enter the entertainment industry in the first place.

Bibbs sat down with the acclaimed indie filmmaker and prolific script doctor of such films as Apollo 13 and The Mummy for a detailed look at his creative process, the development of Go for Sisters, his motion picture influences and all the other tricks of the trade in a very special three-part video installment of The B-Movies Podcast. Enjoy!

Part 1:

Bibbs and John Sayles get into the development of Go For Sisters, how the mystery was crafted from scratch, how John Sayles explores one theme after another, and what his characters are all about.

Part 2:

Bibbs and John Sayles delve into the meat of character development, how Sayles develops backstories for his characters, the parallels between Go For Sisters and The Third Man, film archiving and the importance of structuring scenes, not just the screenplay as a whole.

Part 3:

Bibbs and John Sayles talk about the secret art of script doctoring, the films Sayles co-wrote uncredited, including Jurassic World and Night Skies, the sci-fi script that eventually became E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and what Sayles would do with Creature from the Black Lagoon if he had the opportunity.
