Pictures Of Rashad Johnson’s Gruesome Injury

The sports world is buzzing over Rashad Johnson’s finger — or what’s left of it.

The Arizona Cardinals safety lost part of his finger during the blowout loss to New Orleans over the weekend and continued to play, not even noticing the missing extremity until removing his glove. That’s right, he pulled a Ronnie Lott.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic tweeted:

Somers then went on to report that the injury happened while Johnson was tackling Darren Sproles and that the 27-year-old was having surgery on the finger.

It wasn’t long until Johnson tweeted out a small gallery of his finger pre-surgery.

Brace yourself. It’s not pretty.

Johnson also spoke about the injury with Dan Patrick this morning. He gives a lot of insight and is worth a listen. He does note that it was the most painful injury he’s ever suffered.

The rest of his finger is “probably in the trash in New Orleans.” Wow.

It should be noted that Johnson has thanked everyone for being supportive and he looks to be back on the field very soon.
