Meri Brown and Christine Brown are both well-known reality TV personalities who rose to fame on Sister Wives. Although they no longer have a close relationship, the two recently revisited their past and addressed some of the issues that contributed to their strained relationship.
Meri Brown regrets not defending Christine during her split from Kody Brown
In the October 25 episode of Sister Wives, the two reality stars sat down for a one-on-one conversation to address their past and clear the air. According to People, the episode showed Meri expressing regret over not defending Christine during her split from Kody.
“She and I don’t have trust,” Meri said during her confessional, wondering whether Christine had “completely misinterpreted” her silence as a lack of support. Reflecting on their conversation, Meri admitted that her feelings were hurt when Christine decided to distance herself from everyone except Janelle.
Because of that decision, Meri told Christine that she still sometimes feels “awkward and uncomfortable” when they are around each other. However, Christine defended her choice, telling Meri that she “had to create a firm, strong boundary until I could find myself.”
“Because I feel like that’s all I ever did was please, please, please,” the 54-year-old explained, adding that there were times when she felt like she simply “didn’t matter” to others.
Meri responded, “It’s actually really sad that we all felt like, in different times in our lives, that we really didn’t matter.”
For context, the relationship between Sister Wives stars Meri and Christine deteriorated after years of tension. Their strained dynamic became more apparent during later seasons of the show. However, Christine revealed that she had ended her relationship with Meri years earlier.
In her book, Christine revealed that the biggest rift in their relationship occurred when her daughter Mykelti was just 8 years old. It was around 2004 or 2005. When Christine decided to leave Kody in 2021, she also made it clear that she no longer wanted a relationship or friendship with Meri.
