Gypsy Rose Blanchard has called out Autumn, the sister of her late partner, Ken Urker, for allegedly tarnishing his memory. Urker was found dead at his home in Louisiana on October 1, with an apparent drug overdose suspected as the cause.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard criticizes Autumn Urker’s comments following Ken Urker’s death
Gypsy, who became widely known following the 2015 murder of her abusive mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, recently posted on Instagram. She wrote, “Just because someone is family does not mean they are privy to every detail of a person’s life, nor does it give them the right to speak on that person’s behalf. Unfortunately, even in the most tragic circumstances, there are those who see an opportunity rather than a loss.”
She further stated, “It is no secret that Ken’s sister, Autumn, and I have never been on good terms. She has been openly opposed to our relationship from the beginning. Despite my repeated attempts to make peace with her, that hostility continued.”
She said that she had watched Autumn publicly criticize Ken through social media livestreams for the past six months. Gypsy added that seeing Autumn speak to media outlets after his death, following the way she had treated him publicly while he was alive, was “deeply disturbing” and disrespectful to his memory.
She claimed that during her final phone conversation with Ken, he confided in her that Autumn had threatened to intensify her public criticism of him. Gypsy said she would never forget that conversation and that it made the events following his death even more painful.
Gypsy and Ken first connected through pen-pal correspondence while she was in prison for her mother’s murder. They got engaged in October 2018 but briefly separated before reuniting in August 2019. The couple later went their separate ways for several years.
Gypsy then married Ryan Anderson, but they separated in April 2024, four months after her December 2023 prison release. She reunited with Ken, and they welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, in December 2024.
