Woody Harrelson called out the crowd while presenting Harrison Ford at the 2026 Actor Awards. Opening his speech, he said, “If you folks just had my view right now, I’m talking about the brightest stars in the firmament of our beloved industry, unfortunately, most of whom will be losers before the night’s out.” After a quiet response, he added, “That didn’t go quite as… anyway.”

Continuing, Harrelson said, “People sometimes complain about actors getting awards. ‘Isn’t the life we’ve been awarded enough?’ But in truth, 80 percent of you will get lessons in humility this evening.” Following limited laughter, he remarked, “Yep, OK, that’s what I expected.” He later told the crowd, “You guys are tough, man. I f**king write these jokes for you.”

Addressing Ford directly, Harrelson said, “You have more talent in your little finger than I have in my little finger.” He added, “Of all the actors in the world, you’re one of them.” As the audience reaction improved, he said, “You guys are finally gettin’ me. Thank you. It’s about time.”

Harrelson also recounted Ford asking him to present the award, saying, “He wanted me to present this award to him.” He continued, “To be totally forthcoming, I asked Helen Mirren, she turned me down. And then I asked Kamala Harris, she couldn’t do it.” Harrelson responded, “Am I in the top 10?” adding, “I’m happy to take the bronze, just happy to make the podium.”

Before presenting the honor, he said, “I realize there is too much of me in this tribute to Harrison, but I’m an actor. What do you expect?” He concluded, “Now, it is with incredible pleasure that I present to you the recipient of the 2026 SAG-AFTRA life achievement award—the timeless American treasure, the man himself, my dear buddy Harrison Ford.”
