This Auspol Meets James Bond Mashup Is Thoroughly Disturbing

As if the 2016 Australian Federal Election wasn’t enough of a bloody spectacle already, some genius Vimeo user who goes by the name of End School Zone has made a video mashup of the Daniel Craig helmed James Bond films and the bloodbath that has been Auspol in the 21st Century.

Featuring Tony Abbott as the lead and Malcolm Turnbull as the villain, with all the action set to Spectre – Radiohead’s far superior theme song to the movie of the same name (suck it Sam Smith) – it’s hard to picture a more fitting rundown of the seemingly endless leadership disputes we’ve had to endure over the last decade. Kevin Rudd even has a cameo.

The video was posted to Reddit by user Brvxism (who may or may not be the same person as End School Zone), and it’s not the first time he’s had a play around mixing the worlds of Hollywood and Auspol. In fact he’s made a hobby of it having previously posted a series of videos under the name Refugee Park lampooning Australia’s treatment of asylum seekers by cutting news footage over the music and promotional slogans of Prometheus.

Still, it all pales in comparison to Tony Abbott: Spectre, which I’m not afraid to call his career-defining masterpiece.

Mind you, this isn’t for the faint of heart or any Liberal supporters out there, as it all gets pretty heavy pretty fast. I mean I didn’t think I’d ever see Turnbull whip Abbott’s nads with a thick line of shipping rope (I’m not a member of the Canberra Press Club after all so I don’t get invited to those parties), but then again I didn’t think Australia would ever elect Tone in the first place, so I’m probably not the best person to ask about these sort of things.
