Watch The First Teaser For The New ‘Star Trek’ TV Series

It’s been over a decade since the last Star Trek series finished its run on television, but that void will soon be filled! CBS All Access is planning to launch a brand new Star Trek series, and they’ve recruited franchise veterans Bryan Fuller and Nicholas Meyer to bring it to life!

While the new Star Trek hasn’t even started filming yet, CBS has dropped the first teaser trailer for the series, which promises a new crew, new villains, new heroes, and new worlds.

What do we know about the new Star Trek show? Not a lot, but we have heard that it takes place in the original Star Trek timeline instead of the universe created by the recent reboot of the film franchise. The early rumors suggest that the new Star Trek series will take place between Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and Star Trek: The Next Generation, which is a gap of several decades. The teaser may even support that rumor, as its shattered world resembles the Klingon moon, Praxis from Star Trek VI.

Casting for the new Star Trek is expected to begin soon, as filming is slated to start next fall in Vancouver. CBS will air the first episode of the new Star Trek in January before the remaining episodes move to CBS All Access.
