Fox Greenlights ‘The Exorcist’ & ‘Lethal Weapon’ TV Series

The broadcast networks won’t reveal their fall schedule until later this month, but Fox is getting an early jump on next season!

Deadline is reporting that Fox has picked up six series for next season, including the new television adaptations of The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon. The other two dramas that have been ordered are Pitch and A.P.B, while the two comedies are Making History and The Mick. Those shows join the previously ordered 24: Legacy and Star. That’s at least eight new shows for next season, which doesn’t leave a lot of room for many other freshman series to get in.

The Deadline report also notes that A.P.B. has Burn Notice creator, Matt Nix as the new showrunner. Nix previously had a show on Fox called The Good Guys, which lasted only a single season. However, the network is said to be very pleased about Nix’s rewrite of the A.P.B. pilot, which may have pushed it over the final hurdle.
