Canadian Donald Sutherland Chosen For 2016 Cannes Jury
Canadian actor Donald Sutherland will sit on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and help choose the winner of the coveted Palme d’Or.
Other actors who are on the jury include Actress Kirsten Dunst (US); actor Mads Mikkelsen (Denmark); actor/singer Vanessa Paradis (France); and writer/director Arnaud Desplechin (France). There are nine distinguished jury members in total.
Sutherland, who hails from Saint John, New Brunswick, who is best-known for his work on movies like The Italian Job and The Hunger Games, has won two Golden Globes.
Canadians vying for the Palme d’Or include Montreal filmmaker Xavier Dolan and his latest project, Juste la fin du monde (It’s Only the End of the World).
