Exclusive Preview | Superman: American Alien # 6

Writer Max Landis has updated the origin story of the Man of Steel in his Superman: American Alien miniseries. Last issue, the young Superman was outmaneuvered by Lex Luthor in an early battle against the Parasite. Despite the setback, Clark Kent decided to more openly embrace his heroic alter ego and he stopped hiding his face when he was in costume.

This month, artist Jonathan Case joins Landis for Superman: American Alien # 6, which finds Clark’s best friends, Pete Ross and Kenny “totally not Conduit…yet” Braverman visiting Clark in Metropolis…and it does seem like the fame has gone to Clark’s head. It seems as if Clark’s identity as Superman is an open secret in Smallville, and there’s a certain degree of resentment coming from Clark’s buddies as well. In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for Superman: American Alien # 6, Clark realizes just how much of his life that he’s missed by retreating into his heroic alter ego.

Here’s DC’s description of Superman: American Alien # 6:

“Pete Ross and Kenny Braverman take a trip to Metropolis to catch up with their old friend Clark Kent, only to find that the “Superman” phenomenon has taken the city by storm! As Clark’s alter ego grows more famous, so do Pete’s concerns, and the rising tensions between the two friends inadvertently result in an epic encounter of an extraterrestrial nature!”

Superman: American Alien # 6 will be released in comic book stores everywhere on Wednesday, April 20.
